Amsterdam: Squatgroup Strekkerweg wins second courtcase
The squatters in Strekkerweg 81, Amsterdam Noord, have won their second court case. The owner, Lanvas Beleggingen, wanted the squatters out to replace them with start up companies. In their plans these companies would first get a kind of anti-squat user’s aggreement, which would only become a rental contract in case they made enough money. The judge decided that this was not sufficient reason to evict the squatters, thereby confirming the on-and-off policy in Amsterdam not to evict for emptiness, and tacitly confirming that anti-squat is not proper use.
