\n La Ricotta<\/span><\/em><\/strong>\n designs and organises academic events that combine a scientifically stimulating and informal environment, aimed at fostering interaction among participants, with a cultural impact on the surroundings where they take place.\n\n Currently, two series of events are organised:\n La Ricotta Summer Schools<\/span><\/em><\/strong>, summer schools for graduate students and early-career researchers, and\n La Ricotta Workshops<\/span><\/em><\/strong>, workshops for researchers.\n Both include activities open to the public (lectures, workshops, and\/or experiments), delivered in Spanish<\/em> or Galician<\/em>.\n\n These events are funded through external sources, generally provided in grants awarded to researchers or in resources made available by universities and research centers for organising this type of initiative. Consequently, we seek the collaboration of researchers, universities, and research centers, offering high-level scientific academic events that, thanks to efficient resource management, help eliminate financial barriers to participation.\n<\/div>\n\n
\nIn order to achieve this latter goal, all costs of the participants will be covered, except for transportation to Santiago de Compostela Airport or to the train and bus stations in Ourense. Accommodation will be provided in the form of camping tents, including inflatable mattrasses, sleeping bags, and towels, and all meals will be provided. This allows both the creation of an informal and familiar environment that encourages socialization and the exchange of ideas, and reduces the possibility that PhD students or young researchers might not participate due to a lack of financial resources to attend a long-duration event, based on the belief that the availability of resources does not determine their scientific quality, nor their suitability to participate in scientific events.\n<\/div>\n\n

\n The Cultural Association La Ricotta will take care of all the logistics of the selected events, providing and managing both accommodation and meals, and offering advice on the scientific programme if requested. \n \n \n La Ricotta Summer Schools:\n <\/span>\n <\/em><\/strong>\n\n They are summer schools with a minimum duration of two weeks, with two lecturers per week and, currently, 25 participants. Each lecturer delivers a 7.5-hour course, usually in the morning, complemented by 5 hours of tutorials and 2.5 hours on Fridays of joint tutorials among the week’s lecturers.\n Lecturers are provided accommodation in a traditional Galician house, while participants stay in individual tents equipped with an inflatable mattress, sleeping bag, and towel.\n La Ricotta Summer Schools<\/em> also include activities open to the public.\n\n The format can be adjusted according to needs, always respecting the pedagogical approach.\n\n To date, there are two school cycles: The Disordered Universe<\/em><\/span>, which has two editions (2025<\/a> and 2026<\/a>) and focuses on understanding the early moments of the universe through the intersection of ideas from different fields, such as cosmology, scattering amplitudes<\/em> in particle physics, open quantum systems, gravity in expanding space-times, and disordered systems; and The Quantum in the Haystack<\/em><\/span>, which focuses on theoretical aspects of quantum information theory, whose first edition took place in July 2026<\/a>. However, summer school on other topics can be proposed (and are encouraged).\n<\/div>\n\n
\n\n \n La Ricotta Workshops:\n <\/span>\n <\/em><\/strong>\n\n They are discussion-driven workshops<\/em> that, under a common theme, bring together researchers from different fields to share and synthesize their perspectives, aiming to formulate the right questions that shed light on long-standing problems.\n\n The first La Ricotta Workshop<\/em>, Expanding Thoughts in de Sitter<\/em><\/a>, took place in June 2026.\n<\/div>\n\n\n
